Mathematics Educator
I am a mathematics educator currently teaching Grades 7–9 in an international school setting. My teaching combines strong mathematical foundations, explicit instruction, purposeful practice, and increasingly complex problem solving to develop conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and mathematical independence.
I place particular emphasis on coherent curriculum progression and preparing students for a successful transition into IB mathematics. This means ensuring that students develop the algebraic fluency, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving habits, notation, communication, and independence needed to succeed in increasingly demanding secondary courses. Through carefully sequenced learning experiences, formative assessment, error analysis, and rich mathematical tasks, I help students connect ideas across number, algebra, functions, geometry, and mathematical modeling while building confidence with unfamiliar and multi-step problems.
My goal is to create classrooms where students are challenged to think deeply, communicate their reasoning clearly, and move beyond simply following an algorithm.
